Rust tutorial servers, ranked
This is the chart of Rust servers with the tutorial tag switched on, or with 'tutorial' in the name. You start on a private island and work through gathering, crafting, building and cooking before the main map opens up. Positions here come from player hours counted across the last week, nothing bought. The tutorial changes your first hour, not the server's rates or rules.

▲2 climbing ▼1 falling = non-mover NEW new entry Moves are week on week: each server's seven-day rank across all of Rust now, against its rank a week ago.
Reading the chart. A server climbing three places has added hours, not just players; check the population column to see whether it is full or just busy at different times. A server holding at number one has been the busiest all week.
Before you join. The tutorial island is solo, so a friend cannot follow you through it. Check the Group column to see what team size the server allows once you are both on the main map. Check the Region column too, because a long queue on a far-away server wastes the head start the tutorial gives you.
Questions
How do I know a server has the tutorial turned on?
It appears on this page, which collects servers carrying the tutorial tag or the word in their name. The tag is set by the server owner and shown on the server's own page. If a server drops the tutorial, it leaves this list at the next refresh.
Does the tutorial island count towards a server's rank?
No. Ranks come from player hours recorded on the server, and the island is a short solo session before the main map. A server's position reflects the hours logged across the week, so a busy main map carries it. The tutorial itself will not lift a quiet server up the chart.
Why are the top tutorial servers so busy?
Several large official servers keep the tutorial switched on, so their normal population shows here. Their hours are high for the same reason any popular server's are. If you want a quieter first session, sort by population in the table rather than by rank.
Will I lose my progress on the tutorial island at a wipe?
A wipe clears the map, and the island goes with it. Most servers here run monthly cycles, with fewer on weekly or biweekly. Check the Next wipe column before you start, and a server's page for its upcoming wipe estimate.
Big official servers keep the tutorial on, so this list reads more like a popularity chart than a set of quiet practice grounds. That is worth knowing before you expect an empty island.
Every figure refreshes every five minutes. If a server drops out of the top few, its hours have fallen behind the ones above it, not vanished.
The search box matches names and addresses only. For filters by region, group size or gather rate, use the full server list. If you want a gentler first map rather than a tutorial island, the beginner rankings are the better place to start. New players who only want the tutorial can also read the tutorial chart alongside this one.
